Petter Berntsson is a Software Engineer at Arm, where he works on functional safety activities for Arm’s compiler toolchain and runtime libraries. His work includes qualification evidence, safety cases, requirements, verification activities, and alignment with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.


He has a background in embedded software development for automotive systems, including AUTOSAR Classic basic software, diagnostics, code generation, testing, documentation, and safety-related development processes.


As part of his involvement in the LLVM Qualification Working Group, Petter has been exploring lightweight traceability approaches for LLVM runtime libraries. This includes small libc and libc++ experiments aimed at making selected behavior-to-test relationships more explicit, reviewable, and mechanically checkable, while keeping the approach compatible with normal upstream development practices.
