Speaker Bio
Daniel Towner is a Principal Systems Engineer at Intel, where he focuses on processor pathfinding for telecommunications. He designs software optimisations, hardware instructions, and libraries to make writing high-performance telecomms software less of a headache. He started his career as a compiler engineer in 2001 and spent 12 years as a GCC maintainer before switching to processor pathfinding, but he's never strayed far from his first love: making telecomms code go faster. Daniel has been working with the C++ standards committee for about four years, specialising in SG1 (parallelism) and authoring around 14 proposal papers for the C++26 std::simd library feature. He's presented at numerous conferences over the years, though he's lost count of exactly how many.
