Lechen Yu is an AI Compiler Engineer at Microsoft, where he is also involved in the MAIA project. Before joining Microsoft, he earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he conducted research under the guidance of Prof. Vivek Sarkar.

Lechen’s Ph.D. research primarily focused on ensuring the correctness and enhancing the performance of accelerated applications. Most of his work relates to OpenMP and the LLVM compiler. He collaborates closely with researchers from national laboratories, actively engages with the LLVM and OpenMP communities, and works with colleagues from various universities.
