Tianxiao Gu obtained his PhD in 2017 from Nanjing University, China and then worked as a postdoc researcher at UC Davis. After that, he joined Alibaba Sunnyvale as a senior JVM engineer. Currently, he is a software engineer at ByteDance. His major interests focus on programming languages, program analysis, compilers and runtime. At Alibaba, he led the development of JWarmup 2 and fastFFI (https://github.com/alibaba/fastffi). At TikTok, he is the tech lead of project TangoLLVM, a LLVM backend for the Go compiler.
