When Kristof was 11, he got access to his first computer. Obviously, he wanted to play games. The only way to get games was to write them themselves. Ever since, Kristof has been intrigued about the layers between a high-level programming language and transistors. About a decade later, he did a PhD on compilers and performance analysis tools for improving data locality. For the past decade or so, he's been a compiler engineer at Arm, working on all aspects of compiler development - mainly on LLVM-based compilers. Since 2020, Kristof is one of the board members of the LLVM Foundation.
