John McIver is a Ph.D. student at the University of New Mexico studying programming languages and compilers under Prof. Darko Stefanovic. Prior to beginning his Ph.D. John developed commercial scientific software for modeling electromagnetic sources and effects. John has 12 years years of experience as a semiconductor design engineer performing both custom and standard-cell designs for both application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), for system on chip (SoC), and field programmable gate arrays (FPGA).
